Mr. Kenny's Teaching Philosophy

I see teaching as developing two relationships. There is, of course, my relationship with the students. I need to know my students if I am to understand how best to teach them. But there is also a relationship with the content. If I am to introduce students to the content, I need to keep learning and checking if I really have a grasp on what I'm trying to teach. Ideally, the students develop their own relationship with the content.  Then my role becomes one of nurturing that relationship. When the student takes charge of the learning, that's when education really takes a hold.
