Welcome to Mr. Garcia's classroom!
Hello, I'm Mr. Garcia in Room 19! I teach 4th, 5th, and 6th grade special education at George I. Sanchez Elementary School in Rosemead, California. I'm also the advisor for ASB/Student Leadership and a member of Tech Crew. I received my Bachelor of Arts in the Liberal Arts from Whittier College in 2006 and my Master of Arts in Education, along with my multiple subjects/education specialist credentials from Whittier College in 2013.
My class curriculum is based on the California State Standards for each subject and is aligned with the new Common Core Standards, with modifications and accommodations based on the student's individualized education program (IEP).
At Sanchez, we are not only preparing students to be 21st century learners, but to be strong and outstanding leaders! As a "Leader in Me" school, we are following the 7 habits in order to build a culture of inclusion, where students from all backgrounds and learning styles and abilities are able to succeed and shine in their own unique way, as well work together to create a welcoming and safe environment!
In my class, lines of communication between teacher, student, and home are ALWAYS open, so please feel free to contact me via phone or e-mail at any time.
Let's SOAR together and have a WONDERFUL YEAR! GO EAGLES!!!
